Wow!House 2024 at Chelsea Design Centre

Suzy Hoodless dining room

The Dining Space by Suzy Hoodless

It’s been a goal of mine for a while to visit the Design Centre at Chelsea Harbour so on a London trip to Wimbledon this week, I killed two birds with one stone. The timing was perfect because it coincided with the WOW!House event.

Wow!House started in 2022 and now takes place every year, bringing together renowned designers to create a series of immersive and beautifully crafted rooms within a single house setting. Each room is designed by a different designer or design firm, showcasing their unique style. There were 18 rooms at this year’s event and each one was packed full of design inspiration. Today, I’m sharing some of my favourites with you.

Tissus d’Helene Drawing Room by Guy Goodfellow

Tissus d'Helen drawing room

I love everything about this space. The curved sofa, the abstract artwork, the beautiful coffee table. The pattern on the ceiling is in a larger scale to the Baisha wallcovering and it picks out the colours elsewhere in the room. It works fantastically because the ceilings are so high. The upholstery is in a mix of lovely fabrics by Tissus d’Helene and the large contemporary artwork is by Adrian Heath.

Jamb London Primary Bedroom by Charlotte Freemantle and Will Fisher

With its showroom on Pimlico Road, Jamb sells antique and reproduction fireplaces, furniture and lighting. This room has a beautifully warm feel. The walls are covered in a plaster coloured silk, contrasting with the cool blues of the accent hues.

House of Rohl Primary Bathroom by Michaelis Boyd

The bathroom of dreams. Muted checkerboard floor tiles from Mosaic Factory continue the plaster tone through from the bedroom. The Victoria & Albert bath is painted in a dark olive green, cocooned in an arched alcove which includes a beautiful green and pink wall mural. The soft curves are carried through to the equally impressive double shower area. So beautiful.

The subtle ‘Woodman Check’ wallpaper in a grid pattern creates a contemporary backdrop to this room, with the damask of the four poster bed, the chandelier and the fireplace adding a traditional twist and a soft, inviting feel.

SICIS Bathroom by Maurizio Leo Placuzzi

From the Alba mosaic bathtub to the ‘Mystic Flower’ wallcovering and the ‘Doh Oval’ basins, pattern, texture and colour work together here for a lively, feminine feel. The pretty floral carpet adds softness and warmth.

Sitting Room by Sophie Ashby for United in Design

I just love this room! Working in collaboration with United in Design, Sophie Ashby has created a relaxing, colourful space inspired by a Sunday afternoon at home with her family.

The watered motif of the Amoir Libre Wall wallcovering by Dedar adds subtle movement as you move through the space.

Beautiful rooms by very talented designers. I highly recommend a visit to next year’s Wow!House event. I’ll definitely be there!
