Our Easter Dining Table - Quick and Easy Decor Ideas
Like my Christmas table, I wanted to create a pretty Easter dinner table at an affordable price without spending hours crafting. I used a lot of the things that I'd bought for my Christmas table so if you do invest in these pieces, you can re-use them at Christmas time. The extras I added were accessories mainly from TK Maxx and Sostrene Grene, who have fantastic Easter and spring decor collections. If you do fancy doing some Easter crafting on your own or with the kids, Sostrene Grene also have some lovely DIY project ideas on their website. I will include a source list for all the items I used at the end of this post.
Place settings
For our Easter table settings, I used the same dinner plates and place mats that I'd used at Christmas. The John Lewis braided scallop edged mats are really affordable at £2 each! I bought some napkins with a daffodil design (perfect for spring), and wrapped them around the cutlery. Instead of napkin rings, I tied them with some sparkly ribbon that I had left over.
Fresh flowers and faux florals
Flower-filled vases make lovely Easter centrepieces.
Gardener extraordinaire I am not but I went out into my garden and got some twig-like things that had just started to sprout a bit of greenery. I put them in a large green striped vase and hung mini easter egg decorations from the branches.
Multicoloured Easter egg ornament - TK Maxx
If you can’t be bothered doing this and would rather something ready-made, I spotted this at TK Maxx.
How realistic looking are the faux Tulips?! I got them from my local TK Maxx store and there are other colours available online. A great way of adding a splash of colour to your Easter table.
Easter egg decorations
As well as the mini hanging eggs for the twig branches, I also filled pretty little flower shaped dishes with faux gold speckled eggs and Cadbury's mini eggs (I had to be super quick taking these photos - as soon as the boys spotted the mini eggs, they were gone in a flash).
The Easter egg string lights add a touch of sparkle into the evening.
Candles
Candles are another beautiful way of creating a warm and cosy atmosphere around your Easter dining table. The pink glass candlesticks from my Christmas table would have worked perfectly but I'd stupidly stored them away in the loft with all of my Christmas stuff. I poked my head up there but there was no way in hell they were going to be found easily so I used my gold Dunelm candlesticks instead (which were also on my Christmas table). I also dotted my existing mercurised glass tealight holders around the dining table for a twinkling effect.
